I always liked the lifestyle in Düsseldorf but found the people much more approachable and relaxed in Cologne. . If you return to one place because you slept very well the - A cosy not expensive hotel near the airport. We were pleasantly surprised just how much we liked it here. My partner and I just moved to Duss from Cologne. I would encourage any able bodied, fitness-minded people to look into it. For us, I find the standard of living much higher in Duss. The Rhine River literally splits this city in half, and little on earth is more beautiful at night than taking in the lighted buildings and monuments that line its path. I like Cafe Rico in Cologne, on Rudolfplatz and theirbrunch options are very good there. I have lived in Düsseldorf for about three months now. Cologne has a much more interesting gay nigh life. I think most Dusselgays make the trek south on weekends. Admittedly, the gay scene in Düsseldorf isn't that large — but, on the other hand, the community is colourful and lively! The Aldstadt is a wonderful place to go out. We moved up here so I wouldn't have to battle with that awful commute to and fro every morning. But, it really isn't so bad here. Hi Mike I can't help you too much with Düsseldorf but there's quite a lot of cafes, bars and clubs in Cologne.

I love Cologne, but there always seemed to be a sense of chaos in the air. There are a couple of dance clubs and a handful of bars located mostly in one section of Duss. I believe most gays head south to Cologne for their partying needs. Anyone can suggest anything to do in Sundays? But I do think Colonians are a bit friendlier.

I don't drink or party, so I always find it difficult to find my niche, no matter where I am. Winters are a bit dark and damp. There is also a small gay pride every year. It's a city that you can easily walk around in. Düsseldorf - warmly recommended Welcoming, exciting and tolerant — this is how the lifestyle city on the banks of the River Rhine presents itself to its guests: it's the place where everyone will find something to their taste.

Unless you live south, the weather in Germany generally sucks. I went to Aroma for drinks once but that was all, I wonder about the monthly parties? If anyone knows of any other things like this, I would definitely be interested! Staff was really friendly and atmosphere waslike to stay at home. Ive been in Cologne 9 years since then!! It is very convenient to stay there before your flight. The Old Town has more than its share of gay and gay friendly watering holes, and you will certainly find some action in the few nightlife hangout spots that make this city a definite must see on any visit to the region. But we were lucky we actually took the first thing we saw and got it! That being said, Duss has much more of a big village feel. Very benevolent staff, nice garden, clean comfortable room, good breakfast served by a charming lady, etc. However, yesterday I attended a swim practice with the gay team, the Düsseldorf Dolphins. I also moved here with my partner 2 months ago from Amsterdam, therefore we'd had not much time to check out the scene, but we have been to Cologne witch is quite fun. I can't find any Museum or other stuff to do after my morning jog.
